BACB Approves ABA Certificate Program Practicum Courses at AUNE

Good news for students enrolled in Antioch University New England’s Applied Behavior Analysis Certificate (ABA) program. The Behavior Analyst Certification Board, Inc. (BACB) has approved the program’s practicum courses toward the experience requirements for eligibility to take the Board Certified Behavior Analyst Examination. Applicants may need to meet additional requirements to qualify.

The BACB approval marks an important milestone for AUNE’s ABA Certificate program, the only program in New Hampshire that prepares students for careers as Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBA®) and Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts (BCaBA®). The program is open to individuals with bachelor or master’s degrees, and accommodates working professionals.

Bringing Unique Perspectives to Counseling

When MaiLinh Hartz, a master’s student in the Couple and Family Therapy program, was younger, people often said she had an old soul. “I was very introspective and had time to listen and absorb people’s stories and emotions,” she explains. It’s a common narrative heard among people who work in the mental health field that they were always, in some way, drawn to care. As a student, she is expanding what it means to take care of others—not just as a therapist, but as a peer.
