Recently, the AUNE Faculty Senate championed the option for current students’ to take a “Free 3,” a three credit elective in a different department at no charge. Their impetus was to encourage broad learning experiences and to expose students to academic offerings in different disciplines.
As a result, students will be able to take three credits over the course of their degree program in another area of specialization. Some courses, such as practicums, are not considered part of the program. Also, students who need the courses for graduation requirements are given precedence to avoid being crowded out.
To sign up for a “Free 3”, students are required to complete this form, as well as necessary class activities such as prerequisite reading and meetings.
The course offerings available for the “Free 3” are listed here.
