Dr. Harry Alston Jr’s essay, “Searching for the Rising Tide: Achieving Economic Justice in the Queen City”, examined the necessity for community economic development strategies and engaged citizenry as a means to address disparities and pursue community empowerment.

Dr. Isom’s contribution, entitled, “Unemployment Disparities: Employee Insight and Personal Perspectives”,   addresses the social, economic and personal impact of corporate layoffs.
