AULA staff, faculty, and family members knitted and crocheted 26 colorful baby blankets that were donated to the Children’s Institute, Inc (CII). CII serves more than 28,000 children and their families in the city’s most challenged neighborhoods, and trains more than 9,000 professionals in the realm of child development, mental health and welfare. CII provides healing so traumatized children can recover and lead healthy lives, while working to shape the field of children’s services through innovative research, demonstration projects, and professionally accredited training programs.
Community members who created the blankets include Sylvie Taylor, Claire Avitabile, Barbara Spielberg, Debbie Magana, Amy Ezell, Andrea Richards, and Danielle Minobe. These soft blankets were accompanied by cuddly stuffed animals that were donated by Rebecca Richards. (Photos by Jason Gamble)
